East Tennessee ASHI Chapter Meeting Minutes                              11/20/2004

 

 

 

-Roger called meeting to order at 9:30 AM.

-Meeting minutes read and approved. Donnie, Tom second passed.

-Treasurer report read and approved, Donnie and second by Danny.

-Old Business: Rack cards in realtor office, still up for discussion.

-Fixed Meeting dates: Third Saturday of second month of each quarter.

            Motion to have fixed meeting dates with clause to be changed upon

            Certain circumstances, room availability etc. Kevin, second by Donnie.

-Proposed dates Feb. 19 /  May 21 /  Aug 20  / Nov 19  of 2005.

-New Business: Brochure available on line after first of year, 2005 (date to be released)

            Available to customize to your market and business.

-Branding process: ask your client “what are you concered about with this house?”

-Survey from ASHI, good tool to use to gauge your service from your clients view.

-ASHI Experience: question from Woody, “can ASHI sent out stickers automatically

            each year to us when we re-new?”

-HITA and ASHI will support Lic. In 2005 with Dept. of Consumer Affairs over seeing

            The process.

-Break: 10 AM.

-Guest Speaker: Mark Foster, NU-WOOL cellulose insulation.

-Lunch: 12:00 noon

-Continue New Business: ASHI would like us to us the Web Site to discuss topics with

            other Inspectors, and to use the virtual tool home inspection and even have it put

            on your web page.

-Yellow page ad: ASHI branding ad. Advertise in both yellow pages or real yellow book?

            -$50.00 reimbursement kick back for national members who advertise under the

             ASHI Experience trade mark ad in the yellow pages to go that  member

            Advertise in their local yellow pages. (motion died)

-2005 ELECTRICAL CODE  DVD  will be watched next meeting and discuss any

            material  which applies to our industry.

-Slid show:  Electrical issues discussed that are typically seen in the field. (meter size,               

            amps, volts, etc.)  Structural issues, etc.

-Adjourn.
